Chapter I Safety Instructions
1.1 Safety Specification

For your personal safety, please read this manual carefully.  Be familiar with the
application and limitation of the machine as well as the potential risk relevant to the
machine.
2.Keep the work area clean
  Messy area and workbenches can cause accidents.
3. Do not use in hazardous environment
Do not use at wet or rainy locations or expose to the rain. Keep good lighting in work area.
4. Non-professionals shall not come close
All visitors must keep a safe distance from the work area.
5. Do not force the machine to operate.
Make the machine perform safely at the designed speed.
6. Use correct tools
Do not force the machine or attached device to operate.
7. Wear appropriate clothes
Avoid wearing loose clothing, gloves, necklaces, bracelets or jewelry which may entangle
with moving parts. Non-slip shoes are recommended to wear. Wear hat to wrap long hair.
8. Do not maintain the machine when it is running.
The machine should be maintained properly by the means such as lubrication and adjusting

2.2. Machine functions and features
MNSW30F Vertical Emery-roller Rice Whitener is developed for rice whitening, which is suitable for 100T-120T per day rice process line. This machine is suitable for round rice, nonglutinous rice, which can meet different requirements. It can work alone for whitening, and also can work in series, which is advanced whitening machine around China.

2.2.1. Main Structure of the Machine
MNSW30F Vertical Emery-roller Rice Whitener is consist of rack, whitening chamber, storage, electric controller, transmission device and bran collecting device.
a)whitening chamber: screw, emery roller, feeding dial, mobile deck support, fixed deck support, sieve, screen, blade and outletting device.
b) rack and transmission device. Rack together with electric rack, stable and firm.

 


 




2.2.2 .Operating Principle
Rice flows from storage to whitening chamber, and pushed by the screw and being whitened by the mixed impact of pushing, air, emery roller, sieve, screen and rotating.
2.2.3. Features of the machine
a) Adopting inner air supply(from the hole of main axle and feeding point) combined with outside air suction, low rice temperature and less bran.
b) Longer roller to balance the pressure of whitening chamber, evenly whitening.
c) Less broken and energy-saving.
d) Feeding controller adopts gear to transmit, to make feeding more easy and accurate.
e) Motor is equipped in the machine, saving space. It's easy to install, debug and operate.
f) It's easy to maintain.

Chapter III  Installation
3.1. Handing and Installation Safety Matters
 3.1.1 When handling, please select appropriate lifting tool according to equipment lifting location plan and equipment weight to prevent personnel injury or equipment damage.
3.1.2 Pay special attention to the lifting position and direction of the main body of equipment.
3.1.3 Equipments are not allowed to stack.
3.1.4 Choose appropriate installation position according to installation location drawing; pour
appropriate concrete foundation according to the total weight of equipments.
3.1.5 Lift in strict accordance with lifting chart; find out the position of the center of the gravity and lift levelly; it is not allowed to lift unevenly on front, back, left and right so as to prevent equipment rollover that may result in personnel or equipment damage.
3.1.6 During the lifting, no person is allowed to stand under lifting machine and equipment in order to avoid the accident of endangering the safety of personnel.
3.1.7 Please do not operate of the equipment is damaged or missing parts.
3.1.8 Do not place heavy objects on the equipment.
3.1.9 After concrete foundation is solid, place 8 sizing block on the foundation according to the installation diagram; place the device smoothly on the sizing block and adjust the equipment level through the sizing block.
3.2. Handling and Installation Procedures
3.2.1. Select Appropriate Handling Equipment
   The following guidelines should be strictly followed to lift the equipment properly and safe
Use equipment with sufficient lifting capacity;
Wrap all sharp edges;
   Check the safety devices attached at lifting hook;
Do not move the load before effective lifting;
Pay special attention to the lifting position and direction of the main body of equipment.
3.2.2.  The work before lifting
  Make sure the security clamp to fix the sieve ship and frame have been properly installed before lifting;
 Ensure that all personnel are safety away from the equipment;
 Make sure the load does not swing after being lifted;
  Make sure all parts that may fall are safely positioned;
   Lift vertically to prevent the collision with nearby objects.
3.2.3. Move
Always use rod, lever and hook to lift and move equipments and never use hand.
  The person responsible for moving and lifting should
 Know the destination of equipment hanging and shifting clearly;
  Stand at the position which can be easily viewed by crane operator when directing;
  Stop the operation immediately if dangerous situation occurs (e.g. someone passes by)
3.2.4. Place machine
Before the machine is put in place properly, make sure that the ground is level and has sufficient strength to support the equipment. The machine shall not be placed near the following locations.
  • Exit;
  • Fire fighting equipment;
  • Access;
  • Power line;
The machine shall be placed on a suitable support and keep stable to provide convenience for the staff to remove sling.
3.3. Service environment
3.3.1 The equipment shall be used in the following environment conditions.

3.3.2 The former approach must has complete cleaning, destine, magnetic separation, husking and paddy separation. The impurities, stones, metals mustn't enter in the whitening chamber in case any damage to the machine.
3.4. Installation method
3.4.1 Installation of main body
a)Put the machine on required the place, fix the machine by 6 foundation bolt M16, check if the machine is level, if not use spacer to leveling and tighten the bolts avoiding the noise. See the pic below
b)To make it easy to move and exchange parts, leave enough space(especially leave space for exchange main axle and bearing).


3.4.2 Installation of electric control
a)Put the electric box at appropriate position, close to the main body. Connecting the wires by present regulation.
b)Use 16mm2  copper wire.
c)The motor must under protection of overload and low-voltage, with reduction voltage starting.
d)Equipped with starting, stop switch and ampere meter. Specific value is 150:5(when use 37kw motor) and 100:5(use 30kw motor). Please choose current transformer accordingly.
e)Working time counter is recommended to maintenance timely.
DANGER Mustn't use worn wires.
Electric leakage can cause damage to goods and personnel
3.4.3  Chute installation should be workable, easy to maintenance and beautiful.
3.4.4 Installation of air net for bran collecting

3.5 Checking power source
3.5.1 before connecting, make sure the voltage of machine is same with power source
3.5.2 after connecting wires, make sure it on correct connector
3.5.3  machine must has ground connection to avoid electric shock
3.5.4  this action must be done by qualified electrician

Chapter IV  Operation
4.1. Operating position
4.2. Preparation before Switching on: the follow steps must be taken especially before the first starting
4.2.1 Machine must be installed and connected according to the regulation.
4.2.2 Check whether the bolts and nuts are tightened up and whether the tension and parallelism of V-belt are proper.
4.2.3 Check whether the opening and closing adjustment of feed hopper and pressure door is flexible.
4.2.4 Check is the rotate direction of motor if correct ( faced with feeding port, the correct direction is clockwise).
4.2.5 checking if there is below situation when running without material
a) the temperature of bearings must be lower than 30ºC
b) If there is abnormal noise or vibration
c) If the electric current is normal
d) Check if there is vibration at ground, if yes, leveling each foot by iron rod.
4.2.6 Adjustment of air volume
      When running, the air suction volume should be about 2000m3/h in order to clean all bran.
4.3 Start and shut down
Start: start the posterior host--------start main machine-------running without material(test run)----------open feeding board--------adjusting flow------adjusting pressure gate
          When working, don't put anything on the machine.
         Shut down: stop posterior host-------close feeding board---------open pressure gate-------shut the power-------open access door-------clean
    4.4 Operation
4.4.1 Adjustment of feeding flow
If test-run is normal, put the pressure lump at the bottom, open the feeding board, fill the whitening chamber with material. When it starts to outletting stabilize the electric current and adjusting the flow, observing the ampere meter. Adjusting the whitening degree according to the rated current.
Notice: the actual current can't over rated current and it can't run full load too long.
4.4.2 Adjustment of whitening degree and broken rate
Usually, whitening degree is in direct proportion to broken rate, high whitening degree then more broken; low then less broken. After start the machine, when current is stable, whitening degree can be changed by adjusting the pressure lump.
Whitening degree also can be changed by adjusting the mobile blade, but this action must be done when the machine stops and the blade can above the screen for 1.5mm at most.
4.4.3 Adjustment of tightness of belt
To adjusting the tightness of belt by changing the position of motor plate.
Chapter V  Maintenance
5.1. Maintenance
    5.1.1.Check fastening of bolts and tension of belts regularly.
    5.1.2.Regularly replace lubricating oil and grease.
5.1.3. The outlet, Bran suction chamber, feed chute and Bran Suction pipe are places which accumulate bran and should be cleaned periodically.
5.1.4. Regularly check the following items

Caution Maintenance and examination should be conducted only after the machine stops completely. (The spindle may run further for about 3 minutes after switching off the machine.)
5.2.  Replacement Sequence of easily worn Parts
5.2.1. Procedure of replacing sieve
Unscrew M10 bolt on the mobile deck support,
When exchange new sieve, please remove the grease.
5.2.2 Changing screw and emery roller
a)Open the access door on both sides, take away mobile deck support, remove the sieve.
b)Disassemble the locknut and lock washer.
c)Unscrew 6 screws M16, and remove the outlet bearing base by 2 threaded rods with length over 60mm.
d) Take away axle sleeve, feeding dial, emery roller and screw and install new ones.
5.2.4 Notice when reinstall
    a),Don't forget flat key when install screw and emery roller, and notice the installing order.
b),If there is blur between rollers, roller and screw, should remove the blur. The connecting point of each part should be smooth to avoid broken.
c),When replace parts of whitening chamber, must remove the blur that might cause broken.
5.3  Machine lubrication
5.3.1  Cycle
The lubrication of machine shall be carried out by fixed staff on a regular basis; the maintenance may be conducted at the production gap; it is required to lubricate the bearings every six months.
5.3.2  Lubricant product
Use the generic lithium-based grease; do not mix different types of lubricants to use after having chosen a certain type of lubricant, because this will reduce the service life of related components and affect the normal operation.
5.4  Check the tightness of fasteners
5.4.1  Inspection cycle
Check the degree of tightness of bolt and nut. Check one after 8 hours of work, and later fasten all for every 2,000 hours.
5.5 Trouble shooting
